XI International Symposium on Grapevine Physiology and Biotechnology

11th Symposium on Grapevine Physiology and Biotechnology

NEW Dates 2021

The 11th International Symposium on Grapevine Physiology and Biotechnology will be held in South Africa in 2020 (IGPB2020), under the auspices of the International Society of Horticultural Science (ISHS), bringing this prestigious symposium to the African continent for the first time! The symposium will take place from October 2021 in the picturesque and historical town of Stellenbosch, situated in the heart of the grape and wine industries. Technical tours of vineyards in and around Stellenbosch and Cape Town will allow delegates to explore the Cape Winelands, experience our wines, as well as some of the historic and cultural sites of the area.

The symposium will cover all relevant research topics in grapevine physiology and biotechnology – this time with the theme of “Grapevine Interactions”. This is an exciting time in grapevine sciences, where increasingly we seek to understand the genetic potential of grapevines, while studying and unravelling the complex interactions between the plant and its environment.

The local organising committee warmly invites you to join us for the IGPB2020 next spring – your presence and scientific contributions are essential to deliver an exciting programme and to showcase the latest research and technology developments from around the globe in the fields of grapevine physiology and biotechnology.
