XII International Vaccinium Symposium

XII ISHS International Vaccinium Symposium (Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada) will be hosted exclusively in a virtual digital formal from 24 to 29 August .

Although I am very disappointed that due to the COVID-19 pandemic we cannot have a meeting in Halifax and Charlottetown, the Organizing Committee remains committed to finding ways to effectively communicate, collaborate, and forge new linkages.

We are also pleased to announce that a professional virtual conference provider has been selected that specializes in participant, exhibitor, and sponsor engagement.

The themes for the symposium include:
•       Breeding, genetics, genomics, and phenomics
•       Germplasm and propagation
•       Pollination, production systems, and footprint analysis
•       Plant physiology
•       Soil fertility and plant nutrition
•       Pest management
•       Berry composition and postharvest attributes
•       Marketing and economics
•       Precision agriculture and mechanization

Conveners

Due to the virtual/online format, participation from over 30 different countries with multiple time zones, and possible numerous computer connection issues, we are requesting that all oral presentations be pre-recorded.

Our intent is for attendees to have access to the oral presentations after it is “presented” at the Symposium, and for the presenter to be available to answer questions.
If you have concerns about using a pre-recorded oral format, could you please contact me before 28th May so that alternative arrangements can be explored. Instructions about the recording format for oral presentations and the layout for poster presentations will be forthcoming in the upcoming weeks.
