Fall Armyworm arrives in Australia: What it means for you

Come and join a free industry presentation where international and national experts will discuss the arrival of a significant new pest to Australia, fall armyworm (FAW), and what it will mean for your business.
FAW has recently torn a destructive path across Africa and Asia where it has decimated many types of crops, including sweetcorn and capsicum production.

International expert, Alexandre Silva, Head of Technical Support APAC at Syngenta, will detail the impact that this pest has had on international producers and will highlight some key tools to combat it, now that it is established in Australia.

Local experts,

> Dr Helen Spafford (Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, Western Australia)
> Dr Frezzel Praise Justo-Tadle (Department of Primary Industry and Resources, Northern Territory Government)
> Dr Brian Thistleton (Department of Primary Industry and Resources, Northern Territory Government)

will explain how FAW behaves, how to detect it and how to manage it. They will also discuss how some local beneficial predators may be the key to sustainably controlling this new arrival.
